PASSPORT INFORMATION FOR THE FENTRESS COUNTY CLERK:

The Fentress County Clerk’s Office is a certified passport acceptance facility for the US Department of State.  The office will accept applications for passports Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm CST.  The office WILL NOT accept any applications on Saturdays or after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.

TO APPLY FOR A NEW PASSPORT
You will need to apply in person with the following:

  1. A Certified Birth Certificate, including parent (s) names (No photocopies are accepted)
  2. A valid Driver’s License or State Identification
  3. One (1) Check or Money Order for fees to the Department of State.
  4. One (1) official Passport Photo ( We do not offer photo services at this time).
  5. Social Security Number for each applicant. The SSN card is not required to be brought in, but the number will be needed for the application.
  6. Must have a Check or Money order for passport fees.
  7. Payment to County Clerk for execution fee $35

CHILDREN UNDER 16
All children under age 16 must apply for a passport in person with the consent of all parents or guardians using Form DS-11. You cannot renew your child’s passport using Form DS-82. More details can be found on:

APPLICANTS AGE 16 AND 17
If you have your own current identification document (ID), you may apply for a passport. You must show that at least one legal parent or legal guardian is aware that you are applying for a passport. More details can be found on:

Note: The status is typically available online 5-7 days after applying.

RENEW AN EXISTING PASSPORT
You mail in your own passport renewal.  Passports are renewable up to fifteen (15) years from the date of issuance. After the fifteen-year period has expired, you must apply as a first-time applicant.
