PASSPORT INFORMATION FOR THE FENTRESS COUNTY CLERK:
The Fentress County Clerk’s Office is a certified passport acceptance facility for the US Department of State. The office will accept applications for passports Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm CST. The office WILL NOT accept any applications on Saturdays or after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.

TO APPLY FOR A NEW PASSPORT
You will need to apply in person with the following:
- A Certified Birth Certificate, including parent (s) names (No photocopies are accepted)
- A valid Driver’s License or State Identification
- One (1) Check or Money Order for fees to the Department of State.
- One (1) official Passport Photo ( We do not offer photo services at this time).
- Social Security Number for each applicant. The SSN card is not required to be brought in, but the number will be needed for the application.
- Must have a Check or Money order for passport fees.
- Payment to County Clerk for execution fee $35

CHILDREN UNDER 16
All children under age 16 must apply for a passport in person with the consent of all parents or guardians using Form DS-11. You cannot renew your child’s passport using Form DS-82. More details can be found on:

APPLICANTS AGE 16 AND 17
If you have your own current identification document (ID), you may apply for a passport. You must show that at least one legal parent or legal guardian is aware that you are applying for a passport. More details can be found on:

Note: The status is typically available online 5-7 days after applying.
RENEW AN EXISTING PASSPORT
You mail in your own passport renewal. Passports are renewable up to fifteen (15) years from the date of issuance. After the fifteen-year period has expired, you must apply as a first-time applicant.
